Charlotte Minted Gold Pieces are very rare. This 1843-C is a scarce date with an original mintage of just 23,076 pieces. This piece is among the rare survivors of that mintage today. It was worn in a piece of jewelry over a century ago and has holes where it was attached. Quite a scarce Classic Gold Piece with an interesting story to tell.
