    Description

    very nice unrestored 100% original West Virginia license plate. 1915-1916 issue; number 661.  rare three-digit variant.  10 by 5 inches; white legend on red background.
    the plate lies completely straight and flat, with excellent original porcelain as seen in the photos.  fresh out of the barn!  I took the liberty of grabbing my daughter's playground chalk and quickly filling in the white, to make it more legible.  lucky buyer may take it or wash it off, as per their preference.
    porcelain plates are fragile, because the coating is literally glass fused to the steel.  to protect it from damage, the plate will be packed carefully for transport.
