    Description

2017 .00 * (star note) Uncirculated with errors.
Pictures do not do this justice.   It is a crisp, as new as it can be without the ink still being wet.  It truly would make it the Flagship/battleship of your fleet
    1) Star notes should not have errors.  The Star designation shows that a note was found to have an error, so the note(s) were pulled off the press line and the errors fixed, then reprinted, taking the letter at the end of the serial number off and replacing it with a "STAR' to denote a reprint.
Somehow, likely it was at the end of a day or week when the quality controlers were at the end of the day or a long weekend or maybe vacation thoughts kept them from observing the 'new' errors.  Anyway we have a rare and prized possesion of a STAR NOTE WITH ERRORS.
It's my favorite thing to find while searching for collectables.  This is a find fantastic.
    2) The note is in uncirculated condition, meaning the grade would be over 60.  Then one goes to the margins, as that's the main feature which can stop a note from being a 70.  Margins must be perfect few are.  70's in paper money is much rarer than 70's in coins.  I have seen few 70s in paper money and have never owned one.  To the unaided eye, it appears the registration (position) of the note on the paper isn't perfectly centered, so it's not a 70.
    3) There are no situations on the note which would bring it down to below 60 grade, so it is 'uncirculated'.  Due to the pristine condition, I would pretty well say is it EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality.
    4) I believe due to condition, this note would also have on the holder, should it be graded, as 'Gem Uncirculated'.
    5) The errors are three (3).  In my opinion, as they don't track populations of 'error notes', this is extremely rare.  Having one or even two errors is less rare, but THREE?
5 a)  First error, and most noticable is the shift error where the green inking, (third printing) is shifted down.  The green seal belongs in the center of the big grey 'ONE' and as you can see, it is not nearly in position.
5 b)  2nd error, and one can easily see with the naked eye the black ink blotches (closer up it looks like a fingerprint) are the overinking of the black ink.
5 c)  3rd error is the extra inking seen on the reverse of the note either from dirty printing press rollers, or from the sheet below.  As this is an error note, I think it is more likely from the press rollers than a sheet below. Not likely that many errors to be printing many sheets. Likely only one.
5 d)  NOW...The reverse errors are from different sources than the obverse (front) errors, thereby making this reverse problems the 3rd error.
As an added value enhancer, this note is a very low serial number, and you know how collectors love that.  B01448901*
There are similar blotches on the obverse, which tells me the press needed cleaning, but they are errors.  The big one being the green 3rd printing shift.
This note is a great find, and to find it at all is a real coup.  Well, that's what treasure hunting is all about.  I'm thinking of having it graded, but that would pop the value up, so I will let the new owner decide to invest in grading or not.
Pricing:  To start, it's FV is .00.  Add to that, the UNCIRCULATED CONDITION = * = .00.
Being a star note with errors has basically no guideline, history or auction action to quote, so....  we are up a dark alley looking for evidence of value.  So we have to go by being able to wave it in the air and proclaim RARE, highly collectable and go from there.  Looking on ebay and Heritage,Stacks and Bowers, and other auctions, I find nothing similar so...
*Whitman's Encyclopedia of U. S. Paper Money says, "errors are worth, at least .00 to .00."  and we have 3 errors =ing 0.00.  Whitman's also says, Uncir older notes can be in the 60 dollar range, but this is NOT old.  But with all the attributes to having a rare entity, we're going with 9.00  Many error notes are found to be in the thousands. You decide.
Thanks for looking and if you want it, good luck in the bidding.  SECRET: BID FIRST AND LAST!
