$ 44.35

Description

Offered here is this original,  circa 1945, 3/4" pinback lapel pin for a contributor to the Manhattan Project, the secret US plan which developed the atomic bomb used to end the war with Japan. The pin was apparently given in two grades, bronze and silver. (perhaps determined by the size of the donation)  Offered here is the bronze version. It shows minor wear to the front, and though the catch is intact, the roller lock is missing. The raised W&H Co. (Whitehead and Hoag Company, Newark, NJ) maker mark is clearly visible. (repros do exist, and the mark on those is all but illegible.)  A rare original which are getting very hard to find.
(see all photos).   Offered with no hidden reserve and a low starting bid.  Buyer to pay First Class post and insurance. (3.75) Combined post on multiple purchases.  Three-day inspection/ return on all items I offer if not as described.  US shipping only.   Thanks.
