Vintage English Porcelain "Ballentine's Scotch Whiskey" Ashtray
This vintage highly glazed ashtray is is good condition considering it's age, it was obviously cared for. It's a beautiful creamy white with nice royal blue text and crest. The attractive shape is nice, keep ash from spilling out. There are no chips or cracks. Overall there is some crazing in the glaze and some of the gold is a bit worn. There are no scratches or loss on the blue printed design. Inside there are some slight old tobacco stains under the glaze. I was told it can easily be bleached away. I do not clean or alter any vintage or antique items.
It measures approximately 4 3/4" bottom diameter and the top opening is 2 1/2" and it stands 1 3/4" high. The hallmark is clearly seen in the photos. "Sandland Ware, Lancaster & Sandland LTD, Hanley Staffordshire England."
