Spilsbury SBX 11-A. Three Total Radios

Description

Up for sale is Three Spilsbury SBX-11A’s.   All three radios are in used and working condition.  Two of them have matching channels already.  I believe they belonged to a college that used them in their football stadium for facilities maintenance.  The other radio works as well but doesn’t have matching crystals with the other two radios.  If you work on HAM or other type radios you can change the crystals so they match on all of the radios.  That was my intention but I never got around to doing it.  These would be great radios for preppers and/or back up radios for a smaller Sheriffs department.  One of the lids on one radio does not have the locking clamp.  All of the information with wiring diagrams can still be found on the internet.  These type of radios were used in Canada to reach indigenous peoples and communicate emergencies to the Govt.  My understanding is they have a range of 1500 to 2000 miles with the proper antennae attached. They run on 9 “D” batteries and I have seen them retrofitted to be able to hook up to a 12v vehicle battery.  The break down on price is 533.00 per unit.  That’s way more than I paid for them individually.  The earlier version of this radio which is the SBX are going for 700.00 ++ on eBay.  I’m selling the lot of three radios for 1600.00 plus Free Shipping and handling via USPS priority mail only.  They will be packaged “THOROUGHLY” with major bubble wrap and definitely protected.  I work in a mailroom.  Not selling internationally.  Domestic United States ONLY.  One of the lids has a slight crack along the corner and that’s the one that’s missing the metal clasp piece.  Nothing that couldn’t be fixed by welding.  The clasp would have to sourced from a parts radio.  All radios have batteries already in them.
