Condition: This is a vintage Gamewell ticker tape takeup reel designed to work with a fire alarm telegraph register tape punch machine. These were used in the early days to make a permanent record if a fire alarm box were activated. The signal was sent to the fire station via telegraph and ticker tape. It has a movie style reel and the body and base are made of heavy cast iron. It is in great vintage used condition and is untested due to the absence of a winding key. Great for the collector of firefighting memorabilia. It measures approximately 8½” tall with the reel mounted and the base is approximately 6” long x 2¾” wide at the base.
