Vtg 1930 3D Tru-Vue Floral Case w/ Viewer 12 California CA Film Strip Stereoviews
___________________________________________
I have collected 3D photo memorabilia for 30+ years and it's time that I let some of my prized
collectibles go.
This is a vintage Tru Vue viewer with 12 Films in their original embossed library case.
The Embossed Floral Library Case:
This case is referred to as the Floral case because of the embossed flower logo. It is a great find and the 3D effect in the films is incredible! The brown library case measures about 5" wide x 7" long x 2-3/4" tall. The box is in excellent condition - the hinge on the lid is still very securely attached. The films and viewer fit perfectly inside.
The Tru-Vue Viewer:
The viewer is one of the first that Tru Vue made. It is made of brown bakelight with an imprinted red colored Tru-Vue logo. The advance lever works perfectly. It has no cracks, chips or scratches and the lenses are clean and clear.
The 12 Early Red/White Boxed Tru-Vue Films:
All 12 film reels are harder to find than most! I have all been checked frame by frame with white gloves on with every frame and every film cog checked. All are guaranteed perfect!  All of the original red /silver boxes have all their box flaps and each one has the correct film inside the box. The worst side of the box is shown in my photos - in this case, there really is no worse side. The boxes are mostly immaculate, although some have very slight shelf wear  - not bad for a little box that is 70 years old! I would suggest when viewing these films (and all other Tru-Vue films), to pull them slowly through the viewer rather than using the advance lever... This is how the cogs get torn.

About Tru-Vue from the UK Viewmaster website:
TRU-VUE Inc., Rock Island, Illinois USA manufactured the viewers and over 400 different 3D film reels. The company
was founded in 1931 and after the 1933 "Century of Progress Exposition" in Chicago grew and flourished through the
1930's and 40's. The original viewers used 35mm filmstrips, generally containing 14 stereo views, which were pulled
through the viewer using a lever (visible at the bottom of the left-hand photograph below). In 1949 Tru-Vue sold over a
million reels of film!  The quality of the 3D presented is generally very good, although the films need to be handled
carefully. Film-strips and viewers were made between 1933 and 1952. Ultimately the Tru-Vue company was acquired by
Sawyers View-Master in 1952, who wanted the rights to Disney licences held by the company.
