Description
Our neighbor and good family friend, Lou Schwemle served as an Officer in the United States First Army during World War II.Upon my acceptance into the U.S. Army Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) Program at the Pennsylvania State University in 1978, he gave me all of his Army decorations, medals, ribbons, badges and
insignia's
along with other unit memorabilia.
He never displayed or discussed his service in the Army. It wasn’t until he learned that I was accepted into the Army ROTC program that he asked to speak to me. He had saved and stored all of his previous military memorabilia in his smoke free home since returning to the United States and the conclusion of his military commitment at the end of WW II. Since none of his three children showed any interest in the Army or any of the other Services, he decided to give me all of his
military possessions.
Over the next several decades, his
military memorabilia was periodically displayed and or stored with all my other military service items in one of our multiple smoke free homes.
I have retained all of his military memorabilia for over 40 years; however, since my wife and I relocated from Manassas, VA to Fort Myers, FL we no longer have the space to display or indefinitely store all of these items. Subsequently, I have begun posting these items for sale on eBay as well as other military collector sites.
The next item that I am offering to sell is his eight
